my crafts~ [05 Oct 2009|07:22pm]

Hello! Little intro post here... I'm a 25 year old graphic designer living in NY. Crafting is my hobby, though I tend to use whatever I already have, recycle things and such. I glue, sew, draw, print... my style tends to be more feminine and Antoinette-like, but I'm also a fan of gothic horror, zombies, the macabre, etc.

I threw a ton of my crafts below the cut, it's pretty image heavy! But do enjoy. :)

Most of my crafts are in my Etsy shop here if you're interested! Hope no one minds a bit of self promotion. :)

Another Cool Piewacket Giveaway! [10 Jun 2009|09:46am]

My favorite fashion client donated a pretty Ili wallet and a $100 giftcard for my Piewacket summer giveaway! Very cool stuff in her store (two locations in Atlanta) and you can also shop online. I am lucky to have such great firends/clients. I shoot her seasonal Lookbooks, I shot the pics above at a local carival. She gives me total freedom and we approach each shoot like a magazine editiorial. So fun!

Finding Orla [16 Feb 2009|09:30am]

[ mood | awake ]

Who the hell knew Target opens at 8am on a Sunday? Apparently, a lot more women than me, cause when I got there just after 10am, the small display of the long awaited Orla Kiely kitchen wares was already more than half empty! All the canisters were gone, no tiered trays and no linens at all. It did not stop me from racking up $170 and change in mugs (6), tumblers (4 small, 5 large), plates (6), bowls (6), a large serving bowl, a tray and a beautiful pitcher, I nearly knocked a guy over to grab. As I filled my basket, another Orla fan and I chatted and she told me I should check out what she calls the secret Target. A new one, kind of hidden behind a shopping center off Piedmont. I took her directions and after getting an employee to look and see if they had any more in the back, which they did not, I decided I would give it a Collapse )

Holiday Hunting [30 Nov 2008|03:10pm]

[ mood | calm ]

I stopped off in Lavonia, Georgia, on my way back from Clemson to Atlanta, where there is a huge antique mall right off the interstate. I like to stop in about once a year. I have made some good acquisitions there but the one above is easily my favorite. It was not cheap, it was marked $55 firm. Still, I asked them to call the seller and see if she would take $45. She did, so it always pays to ask. It could have been sitting there over a year!

I also got a few more items...Collapse )

[19 Nov 2008|09:00am]

Just wanted to share something from my mother's kitchen. It reminds me of The Bronte sisters. She bought the paintings in the picture in their hometown. I was there just once but it was amazing. I also love my mother's decorating skills.

Also, this figurine is Yadró and so so pretty. It's been at home for as long as i can remember. I think it was a present for my parents wedding.

[24 Oct 2008|08:27pm]

A month ago I moved to a new country, to a new room and now I'm desperately trying to make it feel like home. Last week I visited Salvation Army flea market and made a great bargain, a pretty little shelf with retro-ish decoration. The price was only 300 Icelandic kronas which is about 3 euros or dollars, in other words: very cheap for such a cute shelf! And what's more, the boxes were full of all kinds of useful and interesting stuff. It was so amazing to go through all that stuff and imagine what kind of person used to own the shelf and why they gave it away with all the stuff inside.

[ mood | nostalgic ]

a few months ago, a wonderful book came out, called Punk House. the book is amazing because it shows the insides of peoples homes as they are, no cleaning crew coming before hand,  and no hired home decorators. also, non of the homes pictured belong to rich people. it's amazing to see how people more like myself live. A nice lady named Abby Banks, toured the us taking pictures of peoples houses. when she came to seattle, she and her tour mate stayed at my house. she took over 300 pictures of my house. (!) a few of them made it into the book. i don't live at this same house anymore, just a few months after Abby came and went, we (me and my six housemates) where thrown out and forced to move. sorry for the crappy, pictres of pictures, but i thought i should share. i now own a home that i just moved into.
